Analytical chemistry for drug quality.

Hi, I'm Vicky. Looking for the next GMP role. Analytical chemist (MSc) with four years in research and pharma QC, the last three at Lonza on release and stability testing for drug products.

The tests a batch has to pass.

I run physicochemical and purity methods on drug candidates in pharma QC. These are the checks a sample clears before it moves on, or comes back to the bench.

The rest of the day is instrument upkeep, method work, and keeping the documentation clean enough to stand up to review.

Where most of it was learned.

Since 2023 I've gone from QC intern to scientist at Lonza, taking on instruments, method review and training along the way.

Purity and physicochemical testing.

I run physicochemical and purity testing on drug candidates. The result decides whether a sample moves forward or comes back to the bench.

Instruments I look after

Qualified, maintained, documented.

I'm the responsible person for nine analytical instruments. I qualify them, keep them running, and write the SOPs the rest of the team works from.

  • UV-Vis qualification
  • PAMAS acquisition & setup
  • Mastersizer & Zetasizer
  • HIAC, LAFs and lab infrastructure
Quality & data

Every result, traceable.

Working inside GMP with ALCOA+, LIMS and electronic workbooks: reviewing analyses, preparing documents, keeping data clean.

  • Data integrity & review
  • SOP writing
  • Document preparation
  • Sample management
Process work

Small fixes, every week.

I'm the 6S contact person on my team, and I co-led the KANBAN rollout. Mostly it's finding the small process fixes that save everyone time.

  • Lean Six Sigma · White Belt
  • KANBAN implementation
  • Method training for new joiners
  • Process tidying & SOPs

The methods I reach for most.

Tap a method to see where it fits in the analytical picture.

QC

Tap a method to see where it fits in the analytical picture.

Good analytical work is invisible when it goes right.

That's the part I love most.

One careful step at a time.

2023 - now

Lonza · Scientist

Running physicochemical and purity methods, looking after instruments, training new joiners and taking on more of the project each year.

2023

Lonza · QC Intern

My first taste of GMP pharmaceutical QC - compendial testing and learning what "traceable" really means.

2021 - 2022

University of Helsinki

Research and technical roles on biomacromolecule isolation, QCM, immunoaffinity chromatography and AF4.

2020 - 2022

MSc Analytical Chemistry

University of Helsinki.

2016 - 2020

BSc Chemistry

With minors in pharmacy and biochemistry.

On my desk

A panda, a cup of something warm, and a list for the day. That's most of the setup.

What's next

More method review, documentation and qualification. Less time only at the bench.
